A delightful set of children's books written by Bulgarian author, Dessislava Jackson, for her own children. Dessi is the one who introduced me (Nissa) to two of our children, which lead to meeting a third, and opened a door to my work at Bereket. I don't think any of us could have foreseen how two friends who met in a mothers' group would potentially impact the lives of many more young people.
Included in the set:
"Nikola and the Monk" the story of a little boy who learns to see the holiness in each moment.
"Roses in the Snow" Elizabeth's grandmother tells her the tale of her namesake, St. Elizabeth
"Saint Felix and the Spider" tells the story of how the course of one man's life can be changed by one of God's tiniest creatures.
"The Saint and His Bees" tells the story of a young monk who finds a special friendship when he is assigned the care of the monastery's bees.
"Saint Clare and Her Cat" Antonio's grandmother shares a story of how St. Clare pursued her vocation with simplicity and joy with the help of a kitten who befriends her.
